METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY POLICE DO NOT TOLERATE SIDEWALK OCCUPANCY

7 November 2025 , Friday

Van Metropolitan Municipality continues its inspections to prevent the occupation of public areas in the city center.

Products left on sidewalks and roads were collected during the inspections.

Teams affiliated with the Metropolitan Municipality Police Department continue their inspections in the city center. After first warning street vendors, the teams then collected items belonging to businesses that ignored the warnings.

Numerous police officers and Municipality  police teams participated in the inspections carried out on Suvaroğlu and Gölbaşı Streets.

Acting on complaints from citizens, municipal police teams conduct frequent inspections to prevent sidewalk encroachment.

The teams constantly patrol the main arteries in their areas of responsibility, warning shopkeepers and businesses.

Following these warnings, the teams confiscate products left on sidewalks, pedestrian walkways, and roadways.

While the inspections are supported by citizens, municipal police teams reminded everyone that sidewalks are reserved for pedestrians and state that sidewalk obstructions will not be tolerated.

The inspections launched in the city will continue with determination.
