METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY'S RENOVATION WORK ON OLD PRISON STREET

Van Metropolitan Municipality has started renovation work on
Old Prison Street, one of the most heavily used routes in the city. In the
works that started at the beginning of the week, the old asphalt is being
dismantled while sidewalk and infrastructure works are being carried out.
Metropolitan Municipality continues its road renovation
works on main arteries.
In this context, the Road Construction, Maintenance and
Repair Department, which works to relieve urban traffic and make alternative
streets more useful, continues its renovation works on Old Prison Street,
starting from Kazım Karabekir Street.
On the 730-meter street connecting Kazım Karabekir Street
and İki Nisan Street, asphalt and pavements that have completed their useful
life are first removed and the rubble is transported by trucks. While
meticulous work is being carried out in the area where the asphalt removal
machine is also used, hot asphalt and sidewalks will be renewed after the
removal.
Drainage line, sidewalks, pedestrian paths and hot asphalt
work will be carried out on the Old Prison Street, which currently has no
sidewalks in a large part and has insufficient infrastructure.
The street, which is planned to be completed within a month, will be renewed from scratch and made more useful and safe.
