STRICT INSPECTION OF SUPERMARKET CHAINS BY METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
Van Metropolitan Municipality Zabıta Department carried out
inspections on chain markets operating within the borders of İpekyolu district.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its efforts
to protect the environment and human health with determination, carried out
comprehensive inspections with the Food Control Teams of the Zabıta
Department(Municipality Guards)
During the inspections, workplace opening and working
licenses, expiration dates of food products offered for sale, hygiene
certificates of the working personnel, general cleanliness of the workplace,
product label prices and weights, and the presence of the domestic production
logo were meticulously examined.
It was found that the expiration dates of some products were
deliberately erased and expired products were offered for sale on the shelves.
These products that threaten public health were collected
and destroyed by the teams.
As a result of the inspections, penalties were imposed on
businesses operating contrary to the legislation.
It was noted that inspections will continue uninterruptedly
in order to protect public health and prevent the victimization of consumers.
