VAN METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY REMOVES STRUCTURES OCCUPYING PUBLIC SPACES

Van Metropolitan Municipality has launched a campaign to remove illegal structures built on public spaces. 

Illegal egal  structures built on lands are demolished and legal action is taken against the people who built these illegal structures.

Van Metropolitan Municipality is working hard to protect urban aesthetics and prevent the occupation of public spaces. 

As a result of the coordinated efforts of the Department of Zoning and Urbanization and the Department of Police, unauthorized occupation of public spaces is detected through field surveys. 

Following the determinations made, the teams remove and demolish the structures built and established in public spaces. 

CONTAINER PLACED ON LAND PLANNED AS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER 

In the latest work, the teams detected illegal structures on lands zoned as parks and public buildings in Bostaniçi Neighborhood. 

A container placed on a land allocated as a Family Health Center and prefabricated structures on land designated as a park were removed with the help of construction equipment. 

The wire fences and walls surrounding the land were also demolished. 

Legal action was taken against the people using the illegal structures.

Municipality officials stated that inspections will continue uninterruptedly in order to protect the areas belonging to the common use of the public and to ensure construction in accordance with the city planning.
